Is the $1000 Free Wal-Mart Gift Card Really Free?
By Troy G Jones
The Wal-Mart Gift Card is Not Free but Very Cheap
I run a website with tips and tutorials on how to get yourself a free gift card, laptop, iPhone, etc. I’ve seen a lot of internet chatter surrounding “how free is free?”
Currently the “Free $1000 Wal-Mart Gift Card” is a very popular offer on the internet. While we all know that nothing in life is free the price is often very cheap. Free gift card programs require program participation. Participation in the program typically means that the sponsor wants you to try out several promotional offers from sponsors who then pay them for the new (trial) customers. These promotions cover a wide range of products types and offer types. Mostly the promotions involve free trials with a full refund (sometimes you lose your shipping & handling fee).
What are the Wal-Mart Gift Card requirements?
Currently there are multiple Wal-Mart offers. There is a $500 card and 2 different $1000 offers. The most popular offer is one of the $1000 offers and it requires 13 promotions be fulfilled. These promotions range from Video Professor to NetFlix to Acai Weight Loss to Coffee to Blockbuster to Government Grants. Having assessed the promotions and the refund policies I have found that it is possible to acquire this $1000 giftcard for $50.58.
There are three levels of offer promotions. The Wal-Mart card sponsors require two completions from the level 1 and level 2. Then they require 9 completions from level 3. As I’ve stated many times in my wiki, look at all offers on all levels before completing any of them. Video Professor and other promotions are in all 3 levels but there are only 16 total offers in level 3 (they require that you complete 9 of those 16). So if you complete the wrong easy promotions in level 1 and level 2 then you may not be able to complete enough offers in level 3.
How Did You Come Up with a Cost of $50.58?
I looked at every offer of every level and assessed the total initial outlay (how much money you have to put out to start) as well as the refund (how much money you should get back after canceling). Levels 1 and 2 can be free if you choose the correct promotions. Level 3 is more difficult but the initial outlay for level 3 could be as low as $199.53 with an expected refund of $148.95. As a result the final cost of the $1000 Wal-Mart Gift Card is $50.58 plus a couple hours of your time.
